Take Me To Your Leader - A small spaceman (Eddie Gaedel) roams the Chicago streets before a surprise appearance with three cohorts during a White Sox game at Comiskey Park, 1959.
Meanwhile, in the women’s apparel section, Marvel would rather include Cap, Spidey, Thor, and Iron Man TWICE ON THE SAME SHIRT rather than including any female characters. I’ve heard a lot of explanations about toys and how marketers are convinced girls don’t buy superhero stuff and boys won’t buy them if female characters are included. Which is also bullshit but at least possesses some fucked up logic. But I’d love to hear why they seem to understand adult women WILL buy superhero t-shirts (since they do make them for us) but even we don’t get female characters on anything. I’ve reached a point of fed up where if it’s got more than one character and none of them are women, I’m putting it back on the shelf and keeping my fucking money. I’d tell Marvel to get their shit together but we all know that’s not going to happen possibly ever. UGH.
